  8. NOTICE BOARD gives you all of the facilities of an office notice board on
  9. the PCs attached to your network, and a menu system, rolled into one.  It is 
  10. designed to be run as part of the network login so that important notices are
  11. seen whenever users log on.
  12.  
  13. As well as the key notices which appear automatically whenever the package is
  14. run, it has a simple-to-access menu structure allowing users to browse 
  15. through a potentially huge database of further information or run other 
  16. software packages.  The interface is intuitive and requires no training.

  18. The structure of the notice menus is decided by you, to match your 
  19. requirements exactly.  The uses are endless, how about these for starters:

  21.         Network Shutdown Information
  22.         Information about new facilities/software
  23.         An internal telephone list
  24.         Holidays/Site shutdown dates
  25.         Internal vacancies
  26.         News

  28. The size, shape and colour of notices is decided by you.  The amount of
  29. information which can be stored in each notice is practically limitless.

  31. The combination of a bulletin board and a menu system in one package enables
  32. you to build an extremely user-friendly menu system with 'help notices'
  33. placed amongst the software packages to assist new or occasional users. When
  34. the Notice Board menu system is used to start other software packages, there
  35. is NO memory overhead.

  37. The software was written in the United Kingdom, in Clipper and has been 
  38. uploaded and continues to be supported by the author, Chris Tyler, a member
  39. of the Association of Shareware Professionals.  The    package is in use across
  40. the world, from the USA and Canada, throughout Europe to Australasia, by 
  41. everyone from government agencies and international companies, down to 
  42. schools and small businesses.

  45. **************                    WINDOWS...                   **************

  47. Notice Board is a DOS package, deliberately designed to work with all PCs
  48. and monitor types, so that all users in an organisation see the messages.
  49. In a Windows environment, Notice Board would normally be run following the 
  50. network login and before Windows is started.  However it is useful to provide
  51. access to Notice Board from within Windows so that users can access the
  52. database of information at any time.  For this reason we supply a PIF file
  53. and icon library file along with full setup instructions.

  56. **************             THE EVALUATION KIT...               **************

  58. A full version of the latest release of the software is available in the same
  59. library, in the file NBxx.EXE.  This is a self-unpacking file, ie. you run it
  60. and it decompresses itself into the full set of files which make up the 
  61. Notice Board system.  The evaluation kit comes with extensive documentation 
  62. to help you evaluate the software.

  65. the address below and we will send you a copy on floppy diskette.

  67. The software which comes with the evaluation kit is identical to the real
  68. thing, so you can try out the package in the live environment and be sure
  69. that it works.  The evaluation kit also comes with a large database of 
  70. notices to make the evaluation easier and demonstrate the possible uses.

  72. After 60 days, the evaluation kit introduces its own notice, suggesting that
  73. a license should be purchased.  The license provides printed documentation
  74. and a set of updated files which enable the full version to be loaded without
  75. losing any existing notices.

  80. Each Notice Board license allows the database to exist on one file server and 
  81. be accessed by an UNLIMITED number of PCs either directly or indirectly 
  82. connected to that file server.  The cost of this unlimited use, server 
  83. license is an astonishingly low 95 Dollars.  The software may be registered 
  84. by sending a cheque direct to Cornerstone software, via the Compuserve
  85. Shareware Registration scheme (GO SWREG), or thirdly using any major credit
  86. card via PsL.  Full details are given in the documentation whicg accompanies
  87. the evaluation kit.
